Does Your Sign Hang Low?
There are a lot of canvas signs hanging in Taiwan advertising this or that, but since Taiwan is an island and it can sometimes be windy the signs are blown around easily. The solution? Businesses take two plastic bottles, fill them with water and tie them to either end of the sign. The sign doesn't blow in the wind anymore, but now you've got two transparent bottles of liquid hanging at eye-level, just waiting to be walked into by a unobservant Canadian. Throw in a few scooters, cars parking on the sidewalk, broken crosswalk lights and uneven sidewalks with these bottles-of-death and WHY is it that I don't have travelers insurance??
