Teacher's Day
Teacher's Day, a holiday that should definitely exist in Canada, was a non-teaching day for us this year. The urge for parents to give the teachers lavish presents is just too tempting and the schools don't like it. My kids' parents still gifted me with a million fancy cakes and cookies and even the new Usher CD (random!) the day before, but on Friday we had a teacher's conference instead of class. It was so boring. Like, really, really boring.
